The route follows the ridge of the ice sheet from the meeting point to the German inland station, Kohnen. From January 12 to 14, we stayed in Kohnen to work on the vehicles, firn core drilling, and snow samples which would be directly sent from Kohnen to Germany by air. This was a great opportunity for us to refresh ourselves for the rest of the traverse.
