Field study in Yala Glacier, 2009

As a part of a research project of Nagoya University, field study has been carried out in Yala Glacier, Langtang Valley, Nepal. To investigate the recent change of this small mountain glacier, surface elevation, ice thickness, terminus position, mass balance and ice flow speed were measured in November 2009. The results will be used to quantify the ice volume change over the last decades and to predict the future evolution of the glacier.
