++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From liz.curry.logan at gmail.com Thu Oct 26 16:12:03 2017 From: liz.curry.logan at gmail.com (Liz Logan) Date: Thu, 26 Oct 2017 09:12:03 -0500 Subject: [SICOPOLIS:59] SICOPOLIS now contains an adjoint model, and upcoming merge items Message-ID: Dear SICOPOLIS users, I am writing to you all briefly here alert you to some upcoming trunk changes. SICOPOLIS now has a functioning adjoint model for the Greenland and Antarctic domains. This is a useful capability for performing constrained optimization problems and generally for efficient generation of the sensitivity of quantities of interest (like total ice sheet volume) to important controls (like basal melting or accumulation). Following this email will be a brief spate of merging commits from branch LL-OpenAD-branch-01 into the main trunk. Rest assured, we have taken pains to ensure that the adjoint code being merged *does not* affect the original, 'forward' running of SICOPOLIS. If you find, however, that a merge does somehow affect your code please let me know immediately and I will rectify the problem. This is extremely unlikely, but in case you have any problem please alert me immediately. This merging should take place over the next few days.
