It is currently being replaced by a new FusionForge installation . This means that SICOPOLIS must be migrated to the new system. I will do this over the next week or two and keep you posted. My apologies for the inconvenience! This concerns the subversion repository and the mailing lists. After consulting with Christian Sch?fer-Neth and some testing, we decided that the migration will be done this Thursday (June 11) between 08:00 and 22:00 CEST (06:00-20:00 GMT). So, in order to avoid any losses, please do not use the current subversion repository (code checkout, update or commit), and do not post anything to the current mailing lists (sicopolis-general, sicopolis-commits) after June 11 07:00 CEST (05:00 GMT). Let's hope that everything goes smoothly. When the migration is done, I will inform you about the new location of the subversion repository and the new addresses of the mailing lists. Again, my apologies for the inconvenience! We owe Christian Sch?fer-Neth and his colleagues a great thanks for managing this! As far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine. Please find some instructions below. (1) If you want to check out a new working copy of SICOPOLIS anonymously: svn checkout --username anonsvn \ https://swrepo1.awi.de/svn/sicopolis/trunk sicopolis (the password is anonsvn). (2) If you want to relocate an existing working copy: Go to the top-level directory of the working copy (probably "sicopolis"), then: svn relocate https://swrepo1.awi.de/svn/sicopolis/trunk (for pre-1.7 versions of subversion, use svn switch --relocate instead). (3) If you are a developer with a user name: First, please visit and register a new account (link at the top-right). One you have it, please inform me. I will then enter you again as a developer (with the right to commit code to the repository). After that, you can do (1) or (2) with your own user name instead of anonsvn. (4) If you do not work with the trunk ("bleeding edge"), but rather with a tagged version or your own branch, in the above commands please replace "trunk" by either "tags/version_number" or "branches/your_branch". Good luck! :-) Of course, if anything is unclear, doesn't work etc., please ask. I will update the online documentation as soon as possible. Instead, the two possibilities (manual configuration vs. configuration by GNU Autotools) will be united in the more sophisticated *.sh scripts. For now, please don't bother (I'll explain later in detail, along with an update of the documentation); everything should work as before. Only one small thing: If you use sico.sh, after an svn update, copy the latest version in /sicopolis/runs/templates to /sicopolis/runs (from where it can be executed as usual). Otherwise, the system will complain about the deleted script error.sh (that was required for previous versions of sico.sh, but not for the new one any more). If there are any problems, please let me know. Let's start with sico.sh. So far, this was the one to be used when SICOPOLIS was built with the GNU Autotools (which requires an initial execution of autogen.sh, as explained in the INSTALL file). For example, in order to run simulation v32_emtp2sge25_expA, it must be executed as follows: (./sico.sh -m v32_emtp2sge25_expA) >out_001.dat 2>&1 & This still works as before. The new thing is that sico.sh can now also be used for manual configuration (without the GNU Autotools). For that case, the configuration must be done once in the new file sico_configs.sh as follows: (1) svn update to the latest revision of SICOPOLIS. (2) Make local copies of sico.sh and sico_configs.sh: cp /runs/templates/sico*.sh \ /runs/ (3) Open the local copy /runs/sico_configs.sh with a text editor. (4) Set the flags NETCDF_FLAG, LIS_FLAG, OPENMP_FLAG and LARGE_DATA_FLAG according to your needs. Pre-selected is NETCDF_FLAG='yes' (with netCDF) and the rest 'no'. [For Antarctica simulations with ice shelves, LIS_FLAG and OPENMP_FLAG must both be set to 'yes'. For high-resolution simulations (e.g., Greenland 5 km or Antarctica 10 km), LARGE_DATA_FLAG must be set to 'yes'.] If NETCDF_FLAG='yes', set NETCDFHOME to the correct path. If LIS_FLAG='yes', set LISHOME to the correct path. Then, in order to run simulation v32_emtp2sge25_expA: (./sico.sh -z -m v32_emtp2sge25_expA) >out_001.dat 2>&1 & The difference to the above command is the -z option. This tells sico.sh that manual configuration has been done, and it will source the sico_configs.sh file to get the relevant information. The same holds for tools.sh and sicograph.sh. If SICOPOLIS was built with the GNU Autotools, they work as before. For manual configuration, simply add the -z option. For example: ./tools.sh -z -p resolution_doubler -m v32_emtp2sge25_expA ./sicograph.sh -z -m v32_emtp2sge25_expA The old *.job scripts are now obsolete. I will not support them any more, and I encourage you to use the new scripts. However, of course the old ones still work, and for the time being I will keep them in the subversion repository. I hope you'll find the changes useful. And, as always, if there are any troubles, please drop me a line.
